Japanese Kraut/Psych Rock MINAMI DEUTSCH have landed in Australia and they will tour the East Coast this week!

Japanese Krautrock band MINAMI DEUTSCH will make their way back to Australia in March 2024!

The group will play their first full Australian tour in the cities of Perth (Spliffs n Riffs Festival), Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne & Lorne.

The group made their debut in December 2022, playing the exclusive Meredith Festival, Melbourne and Brisbane to sold out crowds (with all shows selling out before doors).

Plenty of Japanese bands have been inspired by the motorik pace of early-’70s German outfits, but Minami Deutsch focus on a very specific period in krautrock history. Their earliest releases and self-titled 2015 debut album drew on the scene’s primordial days, particularly the locked-in rhythms of the first two Neu! albums. On record and in live settings, they excel at reproducing this sound—it’s not shocking to learn that they’ve jammed with Damo Suzuki. Listening to Minami Deutsch, though, you can start longing to hear the pioneering sounds of Neu! 2 instead.

It seems Minami Deutsch have been passed the torch from Kikagaku Moyo (After going on hiatus) and the hunger Australia has for the Japanese talent continues to soar in a new direction, the incredible primordial groovy Krautrock Minami Deutsch brings to the table.
